Our Corner Market had some good sales this week. Cherries 🍒 $2.99/lb, peaches 🍑 $1.99/lb, 80/20 ground chuck 3#/$9.99, bscb $1.49/lb, strawberries 🍓 $1.99/lb, and honeycrisp apples 🍎 $1.99/lb. This was their "pre-fouth" sale, so I doubt there will be another. I will be doing some canning over the next few days.

If prices keep going high like it is? Could you address will the companies go out of business if the customers do not buy all of the junk food and also like peanuts which they don’t have to have and only buy milk and eggs and things that are for meals do you think the companies are going to go out of business or something similar. It is getting scary around here. Ohio

We got the cheapest gas were aware of in the grezter area yesterday for $3.69; the next closest is $3.89.

My 25 pound bag of rice from Costco is going a long way ! Pressure cook 1 cup of rice + 1 1/4 cup of watt for 3 minutes on high. After 3 minutes keep it sealed for another 10 minutes. This gives you restaurant rice for the price on spare change !

I paid $1 for 4 tacos at Jack in The box today . I carried in my free large pomegranate iced tea from Panera. The Panera Sip club is a money saver !

The past couple of years, there have been sales leading upto the 4th of July and then also sales on/ for the 4th. The sales on the 4th have been lower on the variety of items and greater in the sales per item. Following the 4th, most sales were off and upto significant price increases following the 4th. In our area, the Safeway brand bottled water has been at a great price onnthe 4th then have gone way ip for the regular price.

I went into dollar general last week and noticed their corn on the cob is $1 per ear in a 4 pack tray. 😮 I used to get it 4 or 5 for $1. I know DG's fresh produce prices are a little higher than Walmart but that's ridiculous.

Which club does everyone still feel is worth it? We've done them all but not sure its worth it anymore. Im usually an Aldi shopper.

Aldi's has grass fed hamburger for 3.99 stocking up

avian flu culling millions of layer chickens, avian flu in beef, hog feed prices higher so smaller swine herds and slaughter plants closing. Eggs, and meats are going to go up because because supply is shrinking. Almost every other commodity is higher because of drought, flood, disease. Most soy and corn is sold as animal feed Wheat, corn, rice, and soy yields are all down. People can't afford to buy anythings. Everyone is cutting back and buying just what they need. But grocery stores have very thin margins so they need volume and to make sales on their other items that have higher margins. . More grocery stores may close if theft and rent adds to their shrink. Tomatoes harvest was down. It will probably be down again this year.

The backlash of food prices going up is because these CEOS who are making millions are fixing to pay more on taxes. So the consumer are going to suffer. Bad enough these companies have self check out to cut out people's jobs even though they paying more for these kiosks.

I bought strawberries at my local Foodlion. They are very pretty but taste like cardboard. They are so terrible and the squirrels 🐿️ won’t even eat them

Learn to grow, raise, and preserve your own food on any level that you can. Please don't say you live in the city and can't. My grandmother lived in the city, yet managed to raise enough food in her tiny backyard to feed herself, my grandfather, all my aunt's and uncles and their family and still give to her local church. She did that up until the year she died. It can be done, but NOW is the time to do this.

If you are lucky enough to have a garden, plant things which will come up year after year. Today, while I was weeding, I ate several strawberries. Each year I can count on some, plus raspberries, blueberries, rhubarb, asparagus, different herbs, winter onions…. It takes a long time to set it all up but it’s a good long-term goal.

I'm not so concerned on food prices because the most recent REAL news release " the federal reserve was hacked by the cyber gang that was squashed down in February " instead of going to prison allowed to Rebuild!!!! 33 terabytes(💩of data breached????!!!) just think of you ever cashed checks in past have banking áccounts etc they have YOUR INFO!!! Supposed random date was released( feds did not even notice till Ransome date was set!!! ) This happened june24 ( remember all those warning vids to be aware of June 25) over 2 months or more ago????)

Danno you are exactly right. Went to meijer today and walked out. No meat thet was on sale, no sweet cherries that were on sale and the 5 for 5 off did not ring up right. (I absolutely hate the exact 5 item sale). So i left my cart and just walked away so i would not get angry. I am beginning to hate meijer.

Try living in Washington state. One of the highest states around. Everything from rent,gas, etc. Please keep trying to stock while you can. Know matter where,what you do things aren't going to get any better. 😮

We saw the writing on the wall 10 years ago and planned accordingly. We have been developing skills, developing plans, and growing, raising and preserving food.

During a recent ef-1 tornado in Western Kentucky, I lost $700 worth of meat ,5 months worth,in my refrigerator / freezer because the power was out for 5 days. I now only buy fresh what I can eat in one or two weeks and all of my preps are canned, freeze dried, or dried....keep stocking up!

I thought it plateaued or at least slowed down but I was wrong. Double or more on everything. Sales only a few cents off now

Some things I buy at aldi went up by 20 cents in one week. Going again tomorrow to see if they are 20 cents more! Getting very very worried.

I do like the way they package chicken now in 4 sections so you dont have to zip lock it no more.

My Chinese meal was $5.99 yesterday it jumped to $8.39 and today it was $8.99 😭😭😭😭😭 spent $40 on Chinese food. It's a.luxury to eat out now. The owner said BROCCOLI is becoming to expensive 😨

Regular gas today in Michigan is $3.89. Flex fuel ethanol is $1.00 cheaper. On another note, the people I see in grocery stores & restaurants all look like they need to go on diets.

What is up with green bean plants? I drove around all day today and could only find green bean seeds in one store. One clerk said that there seemed to be a big push to get green bean plants this year. I don't have much luck with starting with seeds.

Not to mention our pay rate wont go up and the cost of electricity has me looking at off grid options its really bad and sorry to say will get worse

I remember before the pandemic Folgers large canister was sold for $4.99! Here I found a gas/ market selling regular unleaded gas (probably generic gas) for $2.99/gal, the rest gas stations go for $3.12+-

I stopped buying sodas and microwave breakfasts. I now get up earlier to cook breakfast. It's just more expensive than I'm going to pay. Period. Done. Finished. Corporate greed is a run away train.

Organic coffee at my Costco was non existent..Aldi had it, but almost double cost

SE Denver Wal-Mart rolled out digital price tags last week. And gasoline here is still under $3/gal.

At Wendy's in Brooklyn Center Minnesota I pay $5.75 for a Burger French fries a drink and .. You just have to ask for their $5 bag
